Why is there a bar at the bottom of Chrome when CoW opens?

Chrome can show its footer after CoW is enabled

After you enable Caves of Wonders (CoW) as your startup page, Chrome may show a footer bar with a Customize Chrome button.

Remove the footer bar in Customize Chrome

Select Customize Chrome, then turn off Show footer on new tab page in the side panel.
